Canadian Doctors for Medicare is proud to have participated in the Cambie trial as an intervenor. Our role was to bring key evidence before the courts in defence of Canadians' access to health care based on need, not ability to pay. On April 6, 2023 the Supreme Court of Canada announced that it would not hear Cambie Surgeries Corporation’s appeal, putting an end to this decades-long battle.
