National Licensure: Breaking Barriers to Care in Rural & Remote Communities

Currently, physicians are limited to practicing only in the province or territory where they hold a licence and must obtain separate licences to work in other jurisdictions. More than 6.5 million people in Canada are without a family doctor, and rural and remote communities are affected the most. Join us for a conversation on how we can break down barriers and improve access to care.

We are excited to bring together two leading voices in Canadian health care for this conversation. Dr. Kyle Sue-Milne from the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC) and Dr. Margot Burnell, President of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA), will share their perspectives on how National Licensure could reshape access to care across the country. Dr. Bernard Ho will moderate what promises to be a compelling and solutions-focused discussion.
