Canadian Doctors for Medicare is extremely concerned about Premier Danielle Smith’s plan to enable physicians in Alberta to simultaneously work in both the public and private health care systems. Alberta is gearing up to introduce private pay options, and employer-based insurance companies are ready to seize the opportunity. This is an active attack on Medicare and could set a dangerous precedent for the rest of the country.
